It’s difficult to think of a town as misunderstood as Slough. Nestling on the western edges of London, this location has always been something of an underdog. Slough has been mocked by many, from John Betjeman to its most infamous fictional resident, David Brent. Indeed, Brent summarised Slough’s appealing features as: its equidistance between London and Reading, hosting Britain’s largest trading estate, and “the station has got a new floor”.
